Lip Blush FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
We do NOT enlarge the lips outside of the vermillion border. If you would like to enlarge your lips, you may opt for fillers prior to having this procedure. Please note this should be done 4 weeks in advance.
A lip blush typically lasts between 1.5-3 years. Refreshers to boost the color can be done whenever you feel it's time. Most clients come in every 1-1.5 years.
The Lip Blush procedure usually takes around 3-3.5 hours, including consultation, drawing, and numbing time. The touch-up appointment will take around 1.5-2 hours.
Most clients experience minimal discomfort during the Lip Blush procedure, as topical anesthetics are applied to numb the lips, ensuring a more comfortable experience. You may feel more pain around the time of your menstrual cycle.
Absolutely! The intensity of the Lip Blush color can be customized to suit your individual complexion and preferences. During the consultation, you can discuss the desired shade and look with your artist. All colors are customized to your specific undertones as well as your requests. With Lip Blush, we can also choose different "density" (light, medium, deep). You can always add more, so we err on the side of being more conservative on the first session.
Following the Lip Blush procedure, clients may experience mild swelling
and redness, which typically subsides within the first 1-2 days. The color will initially look 50% darker, and then lighten up substantially by day 4. Your lips will begin to peel around day 3-4, and be completely peeled around day 5. After day 5, you can wear makeup on your lips. Full healing takes around 6 weeks, by which point you will see the color fully "bloom" to a more muted, softer tone of the original color freshly tattooed.
Filler is perfectly fine, as long as it has been at least 2 weeks since your filler was injected. In some cases, it's possible to cover or incorporate existing Lip Blush tattoos, but this depends on factors such as the color and condition of the existing tattoo. We require a consultation before moving forward. Please note that corrective work will incur a fee.
